Mandigo is available in two widths, which means that even though the default layout is thought to accommodate users with a 800×600 screen resolution, you can also choose to set the width to 1024 pixels.

800px, 2 columns:

1024px, 2 columns:

Also, while the default layout shows only two columns, it is possible to turn a second sidebar on from the Theme Options page, and the two sidebars can be aligned to either side of the screen, independently. This option is only available when the 1024px wide layout is enabled though, for the reading area to not become too narrow.

1024px, 3 columns:

And the best of all is that no programming is required! You can switch layouts in a few mouse clicks.

If this theme had drop down menus (from the header bar) it would be my dream theme.

  2. Mike says:

    It’s very beautifully.

  3. Roger ONE says:

A really great theme. I would like to replace the 3 colums in 1024px by 900px. Can you tell me what I had toi mlodify please.
    Thanks

  4. webmaster says:

Roger, using 3 columns in a 900px layout will not leave much (not enough) space for the content area. That’s why the 1024px option must be enabled for the 3-col layout to work.

  5. Roger ONE says:

In fact, I would like to reduce the size of one of the sidebar and only dispaly ads in this one

Great theme. How to change the layout options from 800px to 1024px?

  7. Hi’

I’ve been using Mandingo for a looong time, and I’m very happy with it.
But since I went from 1.28 to 1.30 ther has been something strange going on with the widget sidebars.
    I’m using 1024px and sidebars 1 and 2.
Sidebar 1 to the left and sidebar 2 to the right.
But every time the page refreshes, the two sidebars first show up side by side on the right side…
As if the theme wants both sidebars to stay on the right side, by default…
It’s just for a split second that it looks wrong.

Looking forward to hearing from you…, and thanks in advance :-)

  8. Hi’

    About the layout!
I’m having a very persistent problem, that every time I refresh the page, the two sidebars turns up, side by side on the right side of the post.
Just for a short while, and then it comes in to place with a sidebar on either side of the post, as it should be…

It hapens with the Standard sidebars and with the widget sidebars.
It the same in Firefox, Opera, Explorer, in Win XP and Ubuntu Linux…

    I did a change from 1.28 to 1.30, and I’m going to see if 1.29 changes anything…

    Kind Regards

  9. Hi again.

Just testet with 1.29, and I’m sad to say, that it has the exact same problem as 1.30 with a slow page refresh.
1.28 is simply faster for some reason ???

Am I the only one with this strange browser behavior?

Hop I can help out in some way…

    Kind regards.

  13. keyser says:

    Hi,
i’ve been using mandigo theme for nearly a year now and have upgraded a couple of days ago to 1.31. All seemed fine till my friend showed me that in IE6 and 7 my siderbar is not showing at all. When the page loads it tries to appear on the right when it should be on the left and then just disappears and the post table is stretched the width of the page.

I’m getting 2 error messages: syntax error line 1 char 1
and : could not complete operation due to error 80020101 line 1018 char 1

i don’t want to change my theme and i can’t force people to use firefox!
    can you help please
    thanks

  14. tom says:

keyser, the problem is due to a bug in the jquery library. updating jquery.js in the mandigo/js folder should solve the problem: http://code.google.com/p/jqueryjs/downloads/detail?name=jquery-1.2.3.min.js

  15. Baz says:

Mandigo is awesome, well done guys! Just need to know how to change the color of the black box that sits behind the header image. It is masking the bottom of my image. Ideally I would like to change this box to white. I am using the slim header. Thanks again.

  16. Baz says:

I’ve done some more testing, and it seems the problem only occurs when I use the slim headers. My 737 x 226 and 961 x 226 images frame themselves nicely when I use either of the standard headers, but when I go to use the 737 x 126 or 961 x 126 images with the slim headers they just don’t fit right. Any ideas? Thanks.

  17. keyser says:

    hi tom,
thanks for that fix and the theme ofcourse!

I’ve updated that file and my sidebar has returned in IE, it is on the right hand side instead of left but i’m happy to let it be. Its still returning an error:

object expected line 967 char 2

but like i said i can deal with the sidebar being on the other side as long as all the info can be seen.

thanks again especially for being so quick, cheers

    Hi Tom,
I am so happy that I found your theme. I was using another theme until I found yours. Mandigo satisfies all of my needs and the needs of my client. But I have one question. How do I change the background color of the drop-down menus on the Page links in the header? If I want to add a new page and I want to make it a sub-page – meaning that I make another existing page the parent page, I see that the drop-down menu’s background is black. How can I change the background color of the drop down? Also, I want to change the font in the Pages navigation in the header. Can you tell me how to do that? I’d also like to change the size of the font. Thanks so much. This theme is great! Again, I’m so happy that I found it.

Hi there, i just downloaded this theme to use and it looks wonderful.
I tryed it out on my blog and its almost perfect, except one problem.
I display alot of photos on my page, they generally have a width of 800 pixels. When i use the mandigo theme at 1024px wide, they photos get distorted and squashed horizontaly.
Is there any way to fix this?
Can i increse the size of the main body, or reduce the size of a sidepar a little bit?
I’d appreciate any help, as going back and resizing my images isnt an option unfortunately.
    Cheers

Hello, I’m using your theme, and I love it.

One problem I’m getting though is with the Archive widget, and with the Categories widget (default widgets in WP 2.5)

If the ordinary settings are chosen, they work fine. But if the “Display as dropdown list” option is chosen within these widgets, it behaves strangely.

In the case of the Categories widget, the categories are displayed correctly in a drop down list, but choosing a category does _not_ result in being directed to the category page.

In the case of the Archives widget, the months are _not_ displayed correctly in the drop down list – they appear blank, though selectable. Selecting one of the blank lines from the drop down list does navigate successfully to a monthly archive.

(I noticed the problem on IE7)

Anyway, for now I’ll just be sure not to use those options – I tried it with another theme (WP classic) and it seemed to work Ok on there. But of course, I don’t want WP classic, I want Mandigo :-)

  21. Hi Tom,
I am using your theme (mandigo). It is great and beautiful one with its flexibilities. Anyway, I have one problem
when I try to use HTML insert option from wordpress dashboard, the footer appears shifting to the left. How can I fix this issue? Recommend, please. Thanks.

  24. Ejeda says:

I´m really in love with this theme and I’m really stunned with the amount of work I imagine it required. I have a problem though…when I put the theme, an error appears in the main page, over the header image:

Warning: implode() [function.implode]: Bad arguments. in /home/.wooshie/dibujor/ejeda.com/wp-content/themes/mandigo/header.php on line 254

and the sidebar doesn’t appear. All is fine if I go to another page (archives for example), well, fine if you don´t consider all the texts and images messed up with no format at all.

All seems to fail in the front page, the other pages are ok as far as I can tell. I’ve deactivated all the plugins and all remains the same……..oops WordPress 2.51 around here

I really need help because I really want this theme to be mine, I thinks it is the ultimate solution for my blog to be bilingual using xLanguage with your amazing localization and customization work…….

    Thanks in advance…..

Here is problem and would appreciate solution for the great theme..

    1st – versions, etc..

    wp ver. 2.6
    Mozilla 3.0.1
    IE6
    IE7
    IE7Pro
    Madigo Theme: 1.36.2

    Problem:
    Mozilla 3.0.1: no problem
IE6: amazon store appears in left column only about 1/4 of page. The balance of page is “white”
    IE7: works fine
IE7 Pro: same problem as IE6

Do I need to roll back to a older version of madigo for Amazon to behave correctly on IE6?
Is there a code piece that needs to be corrected somewhere to work on IE6?
Is my WP Version to new for the Madigo 1.36.2 theme so IE6 not working for some reason?

    thanks!

I love this theme! For the most part it is really easy to customize.

Could you clue me in on how to make the header IMAGE clickable to return to my main page? I know the title text is clickable but I don’t have that displayed; the title is in the image header. Please email.

Also, I really just want the page navigation bar to go away. I removed all the links except “Home,” which doesn’t show up much on my header since the font is white. Offering options for changing color/visibility of this navigation bar would be nice to add to any Mandigo upgrades.

I have the 2 sidebar option. Under IE7, the sidebars do not display unless, I go for a single post, in which case everything looks OK.

I eliminated most of the plugins to conform to what I have for http://www.johnharding.com, which works just fine.

I also upgraded http://www.mexicalimaryann to version 1.38 (thanks for the Patch-o-matic – works great).

Still, I am not getting the sidebars on mexicalimaryann.com. Is there some variable I am missing. I love this theme and use it for all my wordpress sites – it’s great!
    Thanks

I really like this theme. I’m wondering if there is a way to remove or change the color of the black outline or box in the header. I have a custom header now but I will be changing the image soon. I would like the header box to be all white, no black outline as is currently.

    Thank you!

Hi Tom. TANQ for this FANT-ASTIC theme…. i am using it on 2 of my websites, yet they look totally different.. it is very customizeable… 1 question thou??? is it possible for the header 1024×226 to be say 1024×150 … i would really like my header to be reduced in height… could anyone please tel me how to make this possible… thanq for your time. Neateye x

  39. Neateye says:

Me again ;) just a quick update… apologies for posting a question without thoroughly seaching for a solution…so if you are looking to reduce the height of your header (1024×226 to 1024×126)… make the jpeg/png smaller… then in the stylesheets (stlye.css) find headerimg and drop the z-index size, this will make the space above the header smaller. originally it was 100px, iv dropped it to 20px… its perfect… This is how i went about doing it… hope it helps others looking to do the same… chow… Neateye x http://www.neateye-photoart.com
    Tanx again Tom

    Hey there.
I realy enjoy this theme, been trying tons more, none like it,
only problem is its super slow for some reason. Ive removed all widgets and plugins, checked images sizes and it still loads at 15+ seconds a page. Ive tried other themes and the pages load very fast.
I hate to think Im gonna need to use a different one, as I realy like this one and how my site looks with it.
    any ideas?

one more thing-is there any way I could remove the sidebar icons to allow more room for widgets?

    thanks again
    Tobi
